Two cops among ‘multiple victims’ in Minneapolis shooting (VIDEOS)

At least one person has been killed and six others wounded in a shooting in downtown Minneapolis, with two police officers among the victims, according to hospital officials.
The shooting unfolded on Wednesday afternoon in the area of 15 East Grant Street, according to city officials. The address corresponds to Loring Towers, a high-rise apartment complex in the city’s Loring Park neighborhood.
“The Minneapolis Police Department is on the scene of a shooting in the area of 15 E Grant St. involving multiple victims, including two police officers,” the city said, urging people to stay away from the area.

Hennepin Healthcare said it received seven patients from the shooting, including two police officers. One of the victims was pronounced dead, while six others were being treated for injuries. The hospital has not publicly identified the deceased or disclosed the conditions of the surviving victims.
Footage and aerial images from the scene show scores of police vehicles converging on the neighborhood, along with ambulances and armored BearCat vehicles. A large section of the surrounding downtown area was cordoned off as officers responded.

The circumstances of the shooting remain unclear, and authorities have not yet disclosed the condition of either officer or the other victims.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said his public-safety team was responding and that state officials were assisting local law enforcement.

“Grateful to law enforcement actively working to ensure the safety of our neighbors in Downtown Minneapolis this afternoon,” Walz said, adding that Minnesota was “praying for our first responders.”
