No statute of limitations: The death battalion

During the years of occupation, more than 11,000 settlements were destroyed in Belarus. Khatyn is a symbol of all the villages that were burned and never rebuilt. In March 1943, it was destroyed by the 118th Ukrainian Police Battalion. Eighty years later, this Nazi unit is primarily associated with Khatyn’s destruction, but it’s also responsible for dozens of destroyed Belarusian villages and thousands of deaths.
